Salvaged shopping trolleys, Waitrose jute bags, sand
H410 W280 D70cm Installation in collaboration with Nigel Goldie
As a direct result of prior exposure to Waitrose (see In Transit project) the artists were invited to pitch to Start, to place iconic sculptures in the St James' Palace gardens as part of their sustainability drive
Of 3 ideas submitted 2 were selected. The original proposal was for "Totem" to stradle the garden wall of Lancaster House but after much deliberation a less dramatic plot was offered. It was the artists' first opportunity to play with full sized tonka toys. "Totem" was errected with the help of a fork lift with a 12m boom arm
